On Friday 7th November 2014, at the gorgeous Anzac Hall in Featherston, the Kokomai Festival and PechaKucha Night Wellington will bring you PechaKucha Night Featherston! The theme for the Night is ‘Once Upon a Time’, and we have an amazing line up of presenters to entertain you!
October’s installment of ReCooper8 was dedicated to PechaKucha Night – what is it, who’s in it, why, where and how much! Plus music from local Wellington talent, Oscar Doorne, and British band, Evans the Death. Oh, and of course Enrico is back with reviews of the films Pride, Get on Up and Frank. You can listen to all this again by clicking on the sound file below.
Here’s some headline info before you dive into the programme:
- PechaKucha is a presentation style in which 20 slides are shown for 20 seconds each (6 minutes and 40 seconds in total). The format, which keeps presentations concise and fast-paced, powers multiple-speaker events called PechaKucha Nights!
- Our PechaKucha Night is the 7th November, at the Anzac Hall, and is a celebration of creativity, our town, and the power of story
- Tickets are only $12 and can be purchased on line at Event Finder
- Presenters include local photographers Geoff Walker and Esther Bunning; poet, author and editor, Madeleine Slavick; theatre director and actor, Thomas LaHood; illustrator and artist Steffen Kreft; sculptor Niko Thomsen; comedian Kim Potter; CEO of Booksellers NZ, Lincoln Gould; owner and director of the Kura Gallery, Jude Dods; storyteller and author, Gaye Sutton; Penny Griffin, Featherston’s wonderful librarian and dance teacher; and local actors and students, Stevie and Zoe Hancox-Monk.
