Well, admittedly the levels are all over the show, and overall my editorial cobbling together could do with more…. cobbling! Nevertheless, below is my attempt at a 5 minute glimpse at the most recent Wairarapa Word open mic event held on 7th April 2013 at Almos Bookstore in Carterton. It really is just a snippet of what was two very good, very entertaining and very convivial hours. I’ve tried to capture the variety of the most recent event – we had a spoken word artist (Simon Fleck), poetry from the States, and story telling, in English and Spanish.
If you are a writer, poet, wordsmith living in the Wairarapa, then you might consider popping along to the next Wai Word event to air your material in a supportive and friendly environment.
